Therapy Technician and play a vital role in delivering high-quality support services to our residents under the guidance of licensed therapy professionals.
Position Summary: The
Therapy Technician supports the rehabilitation department by assisting with treatment setup, preparing equipment, and facilitating care delivery under the
direct supervision of licensed physical and occupational therapists . This role contributes to the smooth operation and professional image of the department while ensuring patient safety, proper documentation, and a positive therapy experience.
️ Key Responsibilities: - Assist with preparation and setup for physical and occupational therapy treatments
- Support patients during therapy sessions by transporting, transferring, or positioning as directed
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of the therapy area and equipment at all times
- Coordinate with therapists to help manage daily treatment schedules
- Communicate professionally with facility staff and healthcare team members
- Prepare therapy equipment and ensure adequate supply levels
- Accurately complete logs, billing documentation, and patient forms
- Ensure timely submission of documentation to the billing office
- Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and educational sessions as required
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Follow all safety protocols including infection control procedures and proper use of gait belts or assistive equipment
- Participate in community wellness, exercise, and educational programs as directed
- Represent the rehab team in a professional, friendly, and cooperative manner
✅ Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior experience in a rehab or healthcare setting preferred, but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with therapy and nursing staff
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality of care
Additional Info: - This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
- Must adhere to facility dress code and maintain a professional appearance
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and transfer patients and equipment as needed
