Job Description

Wage: $26.00 - 28.00/hr

Primary Purpose of Position
To assist the Spa Manager in providing leadership and supervision of the Spa Concierge and all staff involved in the daily Spa operations, including: retail, membership, Spa Café, fitness/wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Maintain complete knowledge of spa and hotel operations including events and outlet specials and communicate such knowledge to all Spa staff in a timely manner
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the Spa Leadership team
  • Act as Manager on Duty when Spa Manager is absent
  • Assist in upkeep of entire Spa facility by working with various departments, including: purchasing, room service, housekeeping and engineering
  • Attend regularly scheduled inter-department meetings, including: resume, Green Star, Safety and Training Committees
  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards
  • Assist Spa Management in motivating and maintaining a high level of staff morale
  • Assist in communicating any facility or guest issues through HotSOS and with Spa Management in a timely and efficient manner
  • Advise providers of last minute changes or additions to schedule and resolve scheduling situations as needed
  • Report accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions to Spa Management
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Assist in hiring, interviewing, coaching, mentoring and disciplinary actions within the Sonnenalp standards
  • Address any staff issues as needed and consult with Spa Management in regards to finding solutions to any conflicts
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Front Desk

  • Perform basic Spa Concierge duties, including: guest reservations, assisting guests in the Spa facilities, promoting spa services and retail products, administering the Oxygen Bar, cash and credit card sales
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Spa, including: guest reservations, inventory of retail and professional products, cleanliness of spa area, payroll through ADP, scheduling, organizing and maintaining the retail boutique, the Spa café and Oxygen bar
  • Assist in executing weekly training sessions to ensure a high level of guest service and satisfaction and LHW compliance
  • Assist in ordering, inventory and stocking of the retail boutique, including seeking new products and services which adhere to the Sonnenalp Spa culture

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 4 years’ experience in guest services, spa, or related professional area OR
  • College degree preferred, preferably in a Hospitality related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Supervisory role
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Spa, or similar field
  • Experience with computer software programs, including: Microsoft office, Springer Miller Systems

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to manage, motivate and train staff members
  • Possess a strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility in schedule
  • Ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly and efficiently

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand 8 hours a day
  • This is a physically demanding job requiring frequent walking, standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and lifting objects less than 50 lbs, pushing objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
