Job Description

Serve as the local Subject-Matter Expert in the plant for implementing performance-related test systems to ensure the manufacturing of high quality electronic appliances. Support both strategic and operational needs in a fast paced appliance manufacturing facility, including full support of test/measurement and programming techniques for the testing systems used in the appliance assembly process. Troubleshoot, maintain and develop test programming solutions for various products with electronic appliance control systems. Responsible for maintaining a strong communication link between the Plant, Regional Quality Teams, Platform Development teams and Electronics Development teams and Test Equipment suppliers. Define quality assurance and reliability of appliances through inspection and testing techniques. Support the goal of 100% test coverage using Whirlpool Techniques such as the House of Quality, Critical Parameter Management, Continuous Improvement and others. Evaluate measurement data, run statistical analysis and define both statistical limits and process parameters. Generate reports on findings and create key learning(s) to be shared with other technical experts. Write test equipment specifications, using excellent writing skills. Work closely with designers, manufacturing and quality control to deliver cost effective test solutions. Drive to standardized testing, develop key process indicators and output.

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Technology or related field plus 5 years of experience in the offered position or related occupation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:

• Manufacturing test related experience, including experience in system and sub-system product/process testing.
• Understanding in advanced manner of at least one category of home appliances, and understanding of advance Electronic Testing Systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Methods, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and advanced problem-solving tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Project management experience leading or as a team member for Product or Process development and characterization projects.
• Working knowledge of SPC, APQP tools (Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Process Control Plan).
• Tools including Design of Experiments, MSA, Six Sigma training.
• Experience developing and validating product functional test systems and software for automated test scripting and data acquisition, including test system implementation from concept to final test solution.
• Experience designing and developing test plans, test cases and test scripts based on product specifications.
• Experience developing test automation.
