DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Communications team is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and savvy PR and communications leader for the role of Public Relations Manager, Accelerate. The person who fills this highly visible role will spearhead communications and PR support for seller events, primarily responsible for crafting and executing an impactful press strategy for Accelerate, Amazon’s annual seller conference that brings together thousands of independent sellers and entrepreneurs. In addition to working cross-functionally with numerous teams and stakeholders to successfully execute an earned, owned, and paid program, this person will own special projects to support the broader Selling Partner Services (SPS) Communications team.

This role can be located in Seattle, WA, New York, NY, or the Washington, D.C. area.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate PR/communications recommendations and plans to both peers and executives, drive collaborative decisions, build relationships internally and externally, and deliver results. He/she will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines, will be able to juggle numerous priorities on tight deadlines, and will serve as an organized and thoughtful leader. Additionally, this role will work with a range of media contacts across ecommerce trade and national business publications.

The ideal candidate will have strong event PR/communications experience, a track record of successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results, and media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories on a national scale and managing issues and reactive storylines.

• Build, guide, and execute PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively

• Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson
