What's in Store We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and proactive
Paralegal to support the Davies team with pre-litigation and litigation as well as to conduct legal research and potentially assist with the corporate contract function. The position's emphasis will be on processing subpoenas from start to finish across property and casualty third party administrator businesses as well as other substantive areas such as workers' compensation and life and health.
You must have 2-5 years of paralegal experience in house with an insurance company with third party administrator business--property and casualty and experience with reviewing and processing subpoenas in state and federal court systems, as well as regulatory subpoenas.
Additionally, you will need to have a high-level attention to detail and problem-solving skills, display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization and superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities include:
- Support Davies attorney(s) with all aspects of pre-litigation and litigation management
- Process state, federal and regulatory subpoenas from start to finish
- Assist with the discovery process, draft and review records requests and interrogatories, assist with discovery responses and requests for testimony/witness coordination
- Support regulatory and executive complaint processes
- Conduct legal research including statutory, caselaw, regulatory, forms, and insurance industry compliance research
- Organize and maintain legal and litigation files as well as create and maintain reports and spreadsheets, maintain legal documents databases
- Support corporate attorney with contract function to include reviewing, drafting, maintaining, and recording contracting documents; assist with negotiating and analyzing contracting documents

This is a full-time, home-based position.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 2-5 years of paralegal experience in house with an insurance company with third party administrator business—insurance defense experience in property and casualty, auto, liability
- Experience with and ability to review and process subpoenas in state and federal court systems, as well as regulatory subpoenas
- Paralegal Certificate and/or advanced paralegal education preferred
- Experience and familiarity with litigation process, supporting discovery process, witness coordination, organizing and maintaining documents and files
- Advanced legal research skills including regulatory research, statutory and caselaw research, and ability to research and analyze statutes and regulations impacting the insurance industry
- Experience and ability to support regulatory complaint processes
- Proficient with Westlaw, Legal Tracker (or equivalent programs)
- Ability to review and draft contracting documents, to maintain, record and file contracting documents; assist in contract negotiations; analyze contractual language and synthesize information including tracking differences across large numbers of contracts
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills
