Job Description

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As a ( Packaging Engineer II ), you are responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

• Works with staff from other functional areas to meet complex project deliverables such as new product launches or start-up of new manufacturing/packaging sites.
• Ensures an uninterrupted commercial product supply.
• Interfaces with vendors to develop alternate designs of packaging components and translate into actionable specs.
• Interfaces with production sites to improve/optimize current production processes/recommend.
• Coordinates to ensure product meets regulatory, performance, and cost requirements.
• Contributes to technical investigations and assessment of deviations particularly as related to data generation/gathering and analysis.
• Works with internal and CMO manufacturing sites to define requirements for master batch records.
• Supports the preparation of documents for Regulatory filings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and at least Four (4) Years' of relevant experience (preferably in packaging engineering field or a related Engineering/technical discipline).

OR

• Masters' Degree and Two (2) Years' of relevant experience (preferably in packaging engineering field or a related Engineering/technical discipline).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Experience in solid dose, parenteral or device products packaging.
• Works on non-routine to somewhat complex problems, requiring evaluation of multiple factors before taking action.

The salary range for this position is: $102,085.00 - $132,110.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
