Job Summary
In collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services, the charge nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient flow of all phases of care within the surgical department. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the OR staff. Works in cooperation with surgeons to ensure quality patient care and efficient management of surgical procedures. Provides direct patient care to patients in all phases of care as needs arise. Assist OR scheduler in management of surgeon’s block schedules, anesthesia schedule and decisions related to changes in the OR schedule.
