Job Description

The Sonnenalp is looking for a summer HR Intern who will work 4-8 hours per week starting in June.

Position Overview:
The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department with various administrative and creative tasks. A key focus of this role will be managing and enhancing the company’s employee-focused social media presence to support engagement, recruitment, and brand awareness. This flexible, part-time position is perfect for students or professionals seeking hands-on HR and content creation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, schedule, and monitor employee-focused social media content for platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to showcase company culture, events, and employee achievements online.
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job ads on social media and other platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of an employee advocacy program to encourage staff to engage with and share company content.
  • Research trends in social media and employer branding to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by creating engaging materials or announcements for social media.
  • Help maintain and update employee records and HR documents as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives, both online and in person.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including research, organizing files, and managing correspondence.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, Instagram) and an understanding of various platforms.
  • Creativity and a strong eye for detail in creating engaging content.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

 

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills essential; ability to multi-task
  • High degree of confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills required. 
  • Experience with ADP or other HRIS helpful. 
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) helpful. 
  • Moderate to advance proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required. 

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed indoors. 
  • Moderate amount of traffic and phones.
