Job Title: GIS Technician
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Long-Term)

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Technician to join our team on a long-term contract. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GIS platforms and tools, supporting the development, management, and maintenance of geospatial data, applications, and software. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with GIS Program Managers, Specialists, Configuration Engineers, Data Architects, and Analysts to contribute to a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize GIS tools and platforms including ESRI, Safe Software, and VertiGIS for geospatial data management and application support.
• Edit and maintain GIS data, including:
  • Attribute data
  • Geometric features
  • Metadata
• Perform LRS (Linear Referencing System) route and event editing as needed.
• Develop and create maps for internal and external use.
• Support team members across GIS disciplines to ensure data integrity and efficient workflows.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of GIS databases and software systems.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with ESRI , Safe Software , VertiGIS , and other GIS platforms for data and application management.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience in data editing, including attributes, geometric features, and metadata.
• Knowledge of LRS route and event editing .
• Proficiency in map creation and cartographic design .
• Experience working in a collaborative GIS team environment supporting technical and non-technical stakeholders.
