Job Description
CDR Maguire, Inc., a national engineering and emergency management firm, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and manage the company’s financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial processes. This role will be responsible for directing, overseeing and producing periodic financial reports, project auditing, ensuring proper and accurate invoices, project budget tracking, coordination with Contract Supports Specialist (CSS) and Contract Financial Managers (CFM) to ensure accurate invoicing from both CDR Maguire and our sub-consultants, working to mitigate over budget issues and maximize return on financial assets, and preparation of company tax returns in coordination with the Controller.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Management
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures in conjunction with the Controller.
- Assist the Controller with managing outsourced functions including coordination and preparation of company audited financials and tax returns.
- Oversee invoicing team and contract support specialists, ensuring accurate company billing and accurate accounting for client contracts and budgets and sub-consultant contracts and budgets. Implementing a policy and procedure to track these items on a monthly basis.
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
- In conjunction with the COO, perform bi-annual project audits on every active project.
Reporting
- Assist the Controller to ensure timely and complete financial statements are produced on a monthly basis.
- Assist the Controller with the coordination and preparation of the corporate annual report.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provide for a system of management cost reports.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Perform monthly project audits on key projects, projects of concern, and rotate through other projects to ensure projects are running on budget.
Compliance
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including preparations of various state payroll, income, and sales tax returns.
Administrative
- Clean up project budget information in Deltek to ensure all projects are reporting accurate contract information and are properly budgeted.
- Clean up back log information in Deltek to ensure back-log information is correct and reported accurately.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Deltek Vision experience highly preferred.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Prior experience with an engineering firm.
- Prior knowledge and experience of Deltek.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Suite which includes Word, Excel, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
- The ability to make decisions.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to deal with high pressure
- Flexible schedule to include overtime and weekends as needed to provide support for safety emergencies or incidents.
- Ability to travel at least 40% throughout the US by plane or car.
- Must have a valid active and clear Driver’s license.
- Demonstrates the technical safety expertise, coaching ability, and passion for the role
