Responsibilities About GW Hospital's Emergency Department The George Washington University Hospital's Emergency Department (ED) provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions, trauma, and critical illnesses. As a Level I Trauma Center, the ED at GW Hospital is equipped to handle the most complex emergency cases, with highly specialized teams available 24/7.The Emergency Department is a 62-bed unit, including resuscitation rooms, fast-track areas, and specialized spaces for trauma, cardiac emergencies, and stroke.Our ED is supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities, with rapid access to radiology, laboratory, and surgical services.The ED is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and a highly skilled team of emergency-trained nurses.Our focus is on delivering immediate, patient-centered care while maintaining close collaboration with other specialty areas for seamless patient transitions and long-term outcomes. Job Summary The Emergency Department Manager (RN) is responsible for overseeing nursing operations during the PM shift in our fast-paced Emergency Department. This leadership role ensures high-quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and operational efficiency to meet the needs of our patients, staff, and community.
