We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support a positive safety culture within our two 24/7 Lightweight Aggregate operations. These operations are regulated by MSHA safety standards. The Environmental Engineer will coordinate, direct, and maintain all environmental systems to ensure compliance with Corporate and Governmental standards for our Frazier Park, CA, and Boulder, CO plants. This role involves developing and implementing programs to prevent and solve environmental problems and working closely with plant operations teams. The schedule is very flexible and open to a hybrid/remote arrangement, but site visits will be necessary as required.
Responsibilities
+ Work safely at all times and contribute to the establishment of a positive safety culture by participating in ARC100 Defined Activities.
+ Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, wastewater, water, and stormwater permits, plans, and regulations through interaction with plant leadership and operations teams.
+ Interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape, and analyze various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements.
+ Coordinate the reporting and record-keeping activities for facility permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements.
+ Maintain detailed records and prepare related reports and studies for submission to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
+ Develop and implement environmental compliance programs to ensure environmental regulatory obligations are fulfilled cost-effectively and that environmental risks are effectively managed.
+ Build strong working relationships to support adherence to environmental initiatives.
+ Oversee the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to mitigate environmental hazards across various environmental media, including but not limited to air emissions, water pollution control, hazardous materials management, and solid waste management.
+ Perform technical analysis of process data related to air and water emissions.
+ Apply for original permits and maintain a schedule for renewals, reporting, and provisions of all required environmentally related permits.
+ Develop, implement, and coordinate emergency response to release events as necessary.
+ Develop and deliver environmental compliance-related training sessions.
+ Travel 50% of the time to Boulder, CO; responsibilities are shared between Frazier Park, CA, and Boulder, CO.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with MSHA regulations.
+ Knowledge of Title V regulations.
+ Expertise in environmental engineering, air quality, and hazardous waste management.
+ Proficiency in environmental compliance, OSHA regulations, wastewater, and stormwater management.
+ Experience in emergency response planning and execution.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong ability to interpret environmental laws and permit requirements.
+ Skilled in reporting and record-keeping for environmental regulatory compliance.
+ Ability to develop and implement cost-effective environmental compliance programs.
+ Excellent technical analysis skills related to air and water emissions.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
+ Ability to travel frequently (50%) to Boulder, CO.
Work Environment
The work schedule is very open to a hybrid model, with remote work options available. However, site visits to Frazier Park, CA, and Boulder, CO will be necessary as needed. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
