Job Description

Seeking a Commercial Underwriter to bring in new business as well as maintain relationships with existing clients. The Commercial Underwriter will respond to client calls about policy and coverage questions and consult with clients on policy changes and risk management concerns. This position will be responsible for providing timely and professional day-to-day client service working closely with both the client and the carriers.

Responsibilities:

* Working knowledge of commercial accounts such as commercial auto, contractors, garage, inland marine, umbrella, etc.
* Answers all client policy and coverage questions
* Market and quote new business and renewals, obtaining competitive coverage/cost ratios for the client
* Identify, compile, and manage information regarding account renewals

Qualifications:

* 3+ years of insurance industry experience related to commercial underwriting
* Must have experience with Excess & Surplus lines and MGA knowledge
* Property and Casualty license
* CIC, CPCU, or other insurance designations are desirable
* Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management on risk management issues
* Verbal and written communication skills
* Make commute to an onsite office
