You'll use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while actively involving patients and their families in decision-making. Your responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, documenting educational needs, and coordinating care across departments to ensure a seamless experience. You'll communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, participate in physician rounding, and utilize safety tools like SBAR to support patient handoffs. Staying current with certifications, policies, and evidence-based practices is essential, as is contributing to process improvement and professional development initiatives. You'll also delegate and guide support staff within their scope of practice, maintain accountability for clinical outcomes, and uphold Mercy's mission, values, and service standards in every interaction.
